I used to retain lots of water weight, bloat up after I ate, and had strange heart palpitations as a regular routine in my life. So I started studying what vitamin, mineral or natural supplement could help me to feel better, and found potassium was one I may be low in as those were some of the milder symptoms of being low in potassium.
So I started to experiment taking potassium on a daily basis, and noticed an immediate change. The daily water weight gain was down to normal within a week or so. No longer was I up 3-6 times per night to urinate. That was a huge relief. No more strange heart palpitations either. And no more bloating up a lot after eating a larger meal either.
I've found that any form of potassium helps. But my favorite form to use is a capsule with powdered potassium as it's more easily absorbed by the body. Albion Complexed Potassium, which is a trademarked name, is inexpensive and seems to have many forms of potassium all in one capsule, which makes it easy to make sure one's got enough of a many forms as possible, as there are a lot of different types of potassium.
Too much potassium is deadly. That's why they never sell any potassium pills that are more than 3 percent of ones daily needed intake. So I've never needed to take more than an extra 18 percent of my potassium in pill form daily as I do my best to eat citrus fruits and dark, fresh greens daily to minimize how many extra pills I have to take. Nuts are a good source of potassium as well. I simply don't eat enough as I'm fairly sure I drink too much water and that can lead to lower potassium levels somehow. Who ever heard of anyone drinking too much water? I wouldn't have known had I not been told I've been doing it myself. I'm trying to cut back because of this. May you all be very blessed!
