I have been using Tumeric off and on for a year or so now, since I found out that it works wonders for my hip inflammation that I periodically go through. Recently, one of my Uncle's bought me some concentrated Tumeric and told me it was an excellant antioxidant as well. So I looked it up online, and found out that it's also used to treat Alzheimer's disease. That was VERY good news for me, as I'm a prime candidate for dimensia. The surgeon found what he called a "diseased vein" in my brain that had calcification gravel in it. That was the vein that had the largest aneurysm in it. So I'm on 2 different types of herbs now that are supposed to increase blood flow in the brain, one of which is Tumeric. I have noticed that I'm able to find things more easily and read more easily now, so something IS working. Most people who have the type of stroke that I had end up crippled in one way or another, so me improving so much before 90 days since my surgery is a very good thing.

I am very lucky as my Uncle bought me a very good brand of Tumeric (Curcumin) supplements in capsule form. It is highly absorbable to one's system, and I only have to take one capsule per day. One can even find Tumeric capsules at Walmart these days, although I found that I had to take 4-8 of those capsules per day to achieve the desired result.

I am pretty sure that if one takes too much tumeric, it may cause one's liver to be overly active. It's best to follow the instructions on the bottle rather than take a lot of this from what I have found.
