I have often wondered what the definition of being empathic really is. From what I have been led to believe, it's when a person can feel what other's are feeling. If this be the case, then I have been empathic since I was a little girl, to one degree or the other. I developed this attribute because I was in survival mode my entire childhood.
I believe soldiers that have lived through a war can totally relate to this empathic survival mode phenomena that I have lived through. I believe that it is possible to expand one's aura in order to feel a larger area. And I believe that is what being empathic is really all about. Being able to feel the vibes of others, and knowing how they are more likely to react at any given moment.
Learning to expand one's aura to overlap and feel other's aura's really isn't as hard as it would seem. When one does this, one is capable of feeling the strong emotions of the person that one is overlapping. And sometimes some of the physical pain, etc., that the other person is going through. At least, this is what I have found in my experience.
I have gotten to the point of knowing how to connect with other people so well, it is second nature to me. And when someone that I am in the room with coughs, I will oftentimes cough as well. Or is the person sits a certain way, I will just naturally sit the same way they are. Or if one of the other people in the room sniff, I will sniff at the same time. It is really bizarre if I pay too much attention to it. So I just accept that I am just like this, and I don't question it too much. It's mind boggling how it all works, because we are all actually connected to each other in a cosmic way at all times, and it is possible to become more aware of this fact the more enlightened one becomes. It is a very interesting phenomena, to say the least.
In my opinion, I think that everyone is at least a little bit empathic. I think our subconscious minds just pick up on body language and other signs about how the people around us are feeling, and that explains some of what being empathic is all about. Any of you think that you may be empathic? I would wager that quite a few people that come to this board are empathic, to say the least. Or they wouldn't be drawn to the subject matter here.
