I am a natural born Spiritualist, which means that I am a psychic. I can naturally see the spirits that most people can't. Spooky, eh? I have had psychic experiences happening to me since I was about 5 years old. I believe that all of our minds have the capacity to be some form of psychic, and that I was just born using different parts of my mind more than other people do. Of course, the trials I went through as a child, definitely DID cause my gifts to expand. Survival mode of some sort, if you will. So, have any of you had anything like a De ja vous happen to you? Or maybe a dream that came true? Or something like that happen to you?

One of my most profound experiences that occurred in my life was when I was 5 years old. My Mother had died when I was 3 and a half, and my new adopted mother was very cruel and abusive toward me. She really didn't like me, and always took out her bad moods on me somehow, whether it was through verbal abuse, or physical beatings. I was very sad because I had come from a home where I had a loving, caring Mother, to immediately the opposite with an adopted mother. So I used to cry myself to sleep at night praying that God send me back my Mom, or take me out of the home that I was in. I had a very sad childhood. Any way, one night, in the middle of the night, I felt someone touch me on the shoulder softly, and I woke up because of it. Standing, or I should actually say floating, right beside my bed in the dark bedroom, was my Mother! She seemed rather transparent, and had what seemed to be an inner-glow to her! I wasn't afraid at all. This was my long lost Mother, and loved me so much that I knew she would never hurt me in any way. She looked at me with much love in her eyes, and said "Don't worry. Everything will be alright. Now go back to sleep." So I quietly went back to sleep with her right by my side. I never told anyone about what happened until I was a grown up. It was something that I realized even then was a special experience that God had allowed to happen just for me, and somehow even at 5 years old, I knew that it was something that other people wouldn't understand. So I just kept quiet about it for a long time, and held the experience close to my heart. Now I share the story to other's when it seems they need to know that there is life after death. And that is how I first became aware that there was, for sure and beyond a doubt in my mind, a spirit realm. At least for me there is!

My Mom saved her families life when she was 14. She was babysitting for some friends of the family, when she got a really bad feeling that she needed to go home. So she called the man she was sitting for, and he came back and drove home. Just as they were driving up to my Mother's home, the chicken coop, right next to the house, burst into flames. The house caught on fire soon after, but she had just enough time to wake her whole family up and get them out of the house! The house burnt to the ground, but thanks to my Mom's intuition, no one was hurt. I feel that I inherited my Mother's sense of intuition; I just decided to expand it and have been studying for 21 years now to expand it. It has been an enlightening experience to say the least.

My Grandma is a psychic as well. She doesn't seem to know it though, LOL! This one time, she came over to my house, and she hushed everyone by a certain door, without knowing why! There was no way she could have known that Dean was sleeping in the bedroom behind the door, because when she came over and hushed everyone outside the door, I hadn't told her that I was involved with Dean yet. So she just automatically knew, without any one telling her, that someone was asleep, or that there was a need to be quiet in the general vicinity! She does stuff like that all the time, and doesn't know that she is even doing it! She cracks me up! ;D

I've got little or no psychic ability.
Used to think I was a empathic, then I realized it was probably just the depression. (Seems like every mentally unstable person who's ever seen an episode of Star Trek: the Next Generation thinks they're an empath. Not that there aren't real one's out there, I've just stopped using the phrase myself.)

Being empathic is in everyone's nature, to one degree or another, in my opinion Thorn. If you have thought that you are one in the past, you probably are still one, depression or no depression.

Yes, I only had one "Psychic" Experience when my second Grandmother was sick with cancer & was in the hospital. We went to visit her. When we got home I had a feeling in my guts that she was going to die the next day. It was the last time I saw her alive. I don't think I'm Psychic but it was real that time.

We are all psychic to a certain degree, even if all we have is gut level instincts/intuition. We all get filled with dread a little early if something bad is going to happen, even if it is only a couple of seconds before the bad thing happens. The cool thing about working one's mind to be more aware of spiritual things, is that sometimes then you are more easily in tune with premonitions. One might have an advantage then over other people, only because knowing before something happens that it is going to happen, can come in handy in certain circumstances. There are ways to work your mind to get it to be more open and aware of one's intution. The Silva Mind Control method is one method that I used to learn to control some of my psychic abilities. Any one can learn it, it is a very simple imaginative technique.

I have noticed that there are different forms of intuition. There is gut-level intuition for one. That is usually when something unpleasant is going to happen. You feel like you were punched in the gut, and it is a feeling of fear. When I have that intuition, I stop everything I am doing and start paying attention to my surroundings. I will wait for whatever is going to happen next, and try to stay calm and logical while it takes place, so I can make the best decisions. It puts me on alert that something is going on which could affect my immediate reality. Everyone I have ever met has this form of intuition.
Another form of intuition that I have is what I call my "knowing feeling". It is when I will get a strong thought in my mind, and I just know that what I am thinking is 100% true. For example, I had an acquaintance before who was pregnant with her 2nd child. She wasn't sure if spiritual things were real, and for some reason I had one of my knowing feelings, and in my mind I knew for sure that she was having a boy, beyond a shadow of a doubt. So I told her that, it turned out that I was right. But that's not all.
I saw my acquaintance again when she was about 7 months pregnant, and I told her what day her child was going to be born on. I had another knowing feeling and the thought of the day her baby was going to be born just popped into my head, and I knew at that precise second that it was 100% true. So I told her what day her baby boy was going to be born on, and I was right.
When I have my knowing feelings, I just know somehow that what I am thinking is going to happen. I guess that they could be called premonitions. Although sometimes the feelings are concerning something about the past. So, I haven't been able to come up with a good label for what to call my feelings.
Another form of intuition comes through dreams. Sometimes I will feel that my higher, divine Self will send me dreams to ease my mind about how the future is going to go. I get so scared about something that could happen, that I get all wound up. Then sometimes I will have a dream that will show me the future in symbolic terms. And as long as I can interpret that dream correctly, I will know part of what the future holds. I don't know how to explain how I know that the dream is a premonition dream, but somehow the dream feels different from other dreams. And I just know that it is guidance from my inner and higher divine Self. When I have these premonitory dreams, I can usually calm down about whatever I was so worried about, and not worry so much about the outcome of the future.
