I believe that just like there are angels that God created to help humans, there are Gods and Goddesses that God created as well. I have meditated before and connected with certain Goddesses while meditating. One of the was the Chinese Goddess of compassion, Quan Yin, and the other was the Greek Goddess, Aphrodite. Quite the magickal experiences, let me tell you. And all it took was prayer, and meditation. I sometimes create alters for the Gods or Goddesses and offer them flowers, fruit, a burning candle, and other things. I pray in front of the alter and ask for special favors, which quite often are granted. I feel with the rise of Christianity, that many of the old deities were forgotten, but they still exist. And you can get favors granted from them at times.

My belief is that there is one all-encompassing divine spirit, and that it presents itself to each culture and each individual in the way we are best able to understand. Each god or goddess, even the "monotheistic" god, is a like a facet of a gem. We see them as individuals because our minds aren't ready to comprehend the whole. Therefore, all religions are (or at least can be) different paths to the one truth.
In practice, I work largely with the Norse pantheon, though the Celts, Greeks, and Egyptians also have their places, depending on what it is I want to accomplish. I don't think mixing pantheons is a problem, but you have to be totally familiar with the energies you're working with. Sticking within the same pantheon is a shortcut to be sure everybody's going to get along.

i love mythology & theism, so i've spent my whole life studying it. mostly i follow after Christ & Mary Magdalene. i also associate well with Demeter & Persephone. i once worshipped Ra-Hoor-Khuit extensively, for about 10 years, but, things change. i still maintain direct contact with Thoth.
The Lord God said, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." And my answer is, "They aren't before you O Lord." This doesn't mean that I don't still acknowlege their existence, and enjoy their wisdoms. I do. But I also know there is really Only One God. And other Archetypes are just bits & pieces of his Puzzle.

I believe that all of the deities are a part of the largest and highest God of all too! Seems that so far we all agree with that.

I have to comply, that the creator creates all things, and that Gods and Goddess's exist. Aspects if you will so many way to interpret, all from the source, not to give away the powers that be. They truly do exist. All above are correct, and souls are endless, and created from the endless part of being of the spark of the creator, as all things that exist, existence itself. To deep a subject , for some many to even get the gist of it. Androgynous and consciousness of energy that creates and never ending change. Many forms of life and we are but a mere small part of what has been formed. If you follow spirit, you are of higher reality and awareness. There are and have been alot of enlighten masters and healers through time and when time was not recorded. The earth is a history book itself. But if one is advanced enough they can tap into almost anything, we are limitless souls and can reach beyond.

I agree with you on your perspective as well, Voreese. Nice to have another good opinion on the board.

Ahh,
But who is montheistic and who is polytheistic? But does it matter?
Just a thought.
Pablo (Probably polytheistic)

In the months since I made my last post in this thread, I've found my point of view changing, bending more and more towards hard polytheism.
In answer to Pablo's question, "both." I'm a monotheist in that I believe that all gods and men are eminations from the same divine source. But I'm polytheist in that I believe that gods have independant existence just as humans do.
In practice, pretty much entirely polytheist.

I used to believe there no way that there could be more than one deity, until the Deities that I am connected with now came into my life and changed my perspecitive. Now I know that God has his Gods and Goddesses that help him/her care for us as well. But it was a hard thing for me to change my opinion on because of the religion that I was raised in.

I've always held the belief that there was one main Deity, seen from many different angles of differents Religions, and going under various names. I also believe that there is an hierarchy, so there is numero uno, but also a rank system if you like......I also believe in Angels, and on the flip side, Demons, but I tend to think of Demons as negative emotions etc. I'm still working on a lot of my beliefs, so please bear with me
