What do thing about scientology? Is it popular in USA? Here in Moscow we have only one scientology church.
As I have heard it was rather popular in occult groups in USA in the second half of 20th century...

I don't think that Scientology is very popular here in the USA either. I have never seen a church in my area. I think that it is a very interesting religion myself, and I believe in some of their beliefs.

Yes, I agree with you... Some of their beliefs are rather interesting and the're often usefull. I've read myself only two books: "What is Scientology?" and "Dianetics"... But I thing, that Dianetics can't give to us smth really new relative to psychoanalysis (and other types of psychology) and Castaneda...

Hi all, Scientology like all religions all have a familiar theme,to love.We have so many religions but people forget it all centres around one god,but there are so many branches to the tree.No religion is better than the other or what you believe in or who is better,we are people and to just love one and other is I think the best gift.

You are SO RIGHT Pledm. Love is the main thread that ties most religions together. Being raised by Satanist's, I cannot say all religions, so that is why I say most. And all religions DO lead to the same Highest God of All in my opinion too, so we think the same on that.

I agree with some of what scientology believes, however they have gotten areputation for making people part with their money.also they are not recognized as a religion in germany, which is quite odd.certainly each to his own path, but just remember, the maharishi{TM}tried to hit on john lennon's girlfriend!!!and the maharishi, despite this minor faux pas,is still a rather upstanding figure.

Although one should always follow one's intuition in matters of emotion and spirituality, listen to this:when I was going to dowling college,n,y,when I went into the rest lounge there were a few stacks of free oriental looking spiritual books.so,I just brought the book home, and rarely read it.until I had heard the sarin attacks in the jap subways,I noticed the wanted sign matched the figure thruout my book.I still have the book, maybe $$$$$$ someday.by the way,the book did say to give all your money to the church, and to follow the leader's instruction's to the letter.

That is just SO like so many, many organized, modern-day religions, isn't it?!! I would keep the book too, Silvermantle, as it may well be worth something someday.

I think that it is a very interesting religion myself, and I believe in some of their beliefs. I do hope I am not overstepping my boundaries but, I was wondering what parts of Scientology you belive? I ask simply becuase playing pick-and-choose in belif systems seems a bit naive, at least without proper education and understanding of all belifs, which is next to impossible. selectively choosing?

Although I am not very familiar with Scientology myself, I have to say that I do agree with their belief that they are immortal spiritual beings who have forgotten their true nature. I also agree that it is a good idea to face one's fear and clear it from one's self by re-experiencing traumatic/painful events from one's past in a more positive light, etc., and in whatever way is most comfortable for each individual. What I don't agree with about Scientology is what I have heard about how expensive it is. I also believe that psychology is good for many individuals, and I wouldn't want it abolished from society personally as they seem to wish it could be. Please remember, I may have some of my information wrong as I am far from an expert on this religion. I am far from an expert on ANY religion yet for that matter. I still have MUCH to learn, so thank heavens I really enjoy learning such things.
