I love to write poetry to express my innermost feelings. Strangely enough, a lot of my poetry ends up being really sad, or strangely funny! I lost my book that I write in when my family cleaned up the house to have new carpet laid, but will try really hard to find it so I can put some of my poetry here. That should give you all a good laugh, I hope, LOL! I was wondering if any of you had any poetry that you have written to share? Or poems that are your favorites even, by other people?

I Walk on Alone
Looking for that special love, Some say cannot exist. Searching for that different one With love first on their list.
Wishing that I never would Have touched upon the thought There could be someone so like me My heart would never want.
Even when I close my eyes, The unwilling quest goes on. I try to tell my mind to stop- But dreams go on alone.
Waking every morning now my heart tied in a knot. While logic fights emotion, And spirit wrestles thought.
My never-ending battle To find the middle road. Where heart, mind, body, spirit, Share equally the load.
I used to wish on every star To touch the Hand of Fate. I want so much to take it back- For me it is too late.
I walk on Alone.

I'm a huge fan of the Beatnik movement (and frankly- I'm a bit upset that fate didn't hand me into this wonderful generation and influx of art). I would like to share a poem written by one of the most underrated poets in existence, Gregory Corso.
The Whole Mess ... Almost
I ran up six flights of stairs to my small furnished room opened the window and began throwing out those things most important in life
First to go, Truth, squealing like a fink: "Don't! I'll tell awful things about you!" "Oh yeah? Well, I've nothing to hide ... OUT!" Then went God, glowering & whimpering in amazement: "It's not my fault! I'm not the cause of it all!" "OUT!" Then Love, cooing bribes: "You'll never know impotency! All the girls on Vogue covers, all yours!" I pushed her fat ass out and screamed: "You always end up a bummer!" I picked up Faith Hope Charity all three clinging together: "Without us you'll surely die!" "With you I'm going nuts! Goodbye!"
Then Beauty ... ah, Beauty -- As I led her to the window I told her: "You I loved best in life ... but you're a killer; Beauty kills!" Not really meaning to drop her I immediately ran downstairs getting there just in time to catch her "You saved me!" she cried I put her down and told her: "Move on."
Went back up those six flights went to the money there was no money to throw out. The only thing left in the room was Death hiding beneath the kitchen sink: "I'm not real!" It cried "I'm just a rumor spread by life ..." Laughing I threw it out, kitchen sink and all and suddenly realized Humor was all that was left -- All I could do with Humor was to say: "Out the window with the window!"

Me too! Gregory is a great writer. You should check out his works some time.
Here is another writer that blows my mind. These are actually lyrics to a song. It was written by Patti Smith:
Godspeed
You are the adrenaline Rushing through my veins Stimulate my heart Heavy crystalline You are the sulphur Extinguished by the flame You are everything to me All this in your name
Oh, walking in your blue coat Weeping admiral All the twisted cellars They had to hand your name Ended all that's static In a myth of sin Mirror minor static Pale adrenaline
Take it Ah, take it That day you said to me, "It could never be" Say the hour of sea to seep "Have you said Godspeed?"
Love is a vampire Energy of dead Love is like a boomerang Comin' back again On a rack of red leather On a rack of skin and sin Tell me how to pale In adrenaline
And you said to me, "It could never be" Say the hour of sea to seep And you said to me, "Have you said Godspeed?"
I could make it all All the twisted sand and foam I'll never, ever return I could make it Make it all
I'm walking, follow me Down the twisted stair Stuck inside a memory Shot and shot again Hand upon a railin' Courtin' fate and fate We're sailin', sailin', sailin' sailin' Down a black, black river And I plunge right in And I plunge right in In adrenaline In adrenaline
I move inside my vein Ah, you're the speed I need Throw the pistol in Oh, your love's a vampire Comin' in to suck Stop, stop, stop, stop Oh, I fell and fell and fell Down, down, down, down Oh, I'm gonna duck

Hidden Doorways
I peered and sought, what did I see? Veiled eyes looking back at me. Then every so often, immense and bold, Eyes that flickered with gold.
I was sent on a mission to find golden treasure While searching in vain, I then discovered That what I was seeking, could be measured By my eyes alone.
I armored up with wings of light, Prepared to take a dreadful flight, To battle a dragon full of might, Hidden in a cave below me.
As darkness thickened I grasped for the sword! And then was pierced, for the dragon did hoard A vile secret weapon, That wounded me immensely!
I stumbled and fell, tripped on a rock Felt in the darkness, until what I sought, Was cupped in my hands and turned out to be A magickal glowing thought!
I sprang to my feet, my path more well lit. Held the rock to my breast, until I saw fit To run like the dickens away from that labyrinth, All-encompassed in mystery.
So let it be known, Near and Far When Dragon Master approaches, you'd best be aware! Just what his intent is, you never can tell. It was all an illusion, and that's just as well.

Here's one I wrote a little while back.
As Above
Surround me ancient ones, feel my energy circle and rise.
Moon goddess, guide me, as I re-learn to fly.
I call… Earth to shift and move the willows Let their branches bow and dance as I do before them.
I call… Air to lift and stream through my dark hair Let it flow free and wild untamed like my heart.
I call… Fire to ignite and burn brightly Let the flames release white energy into the depths of my soul.
I call… Water to shed and fall from dark eyes Let the past go, be one in the present breathe the future.
Throughout Ostara eve, wood nymphs fed the fire, soft air blew heated embers into the misty night sky.
Sun god, watch me, as I now take flight.

Thank you Debbie. My friend said I should compile a book of my Pagan poetry. I dunno though... I just enjoy writing. I tend to do it more like trance writing.... it just flows. Here's another... let me know what you think.
Scrye
Show me sight. Show me delight. Today, tomorrow, Yesterday's flight.
Hear me ask, undo the mask. Turn times tide, tilt it to one side.
Call upon the elements. Ask the ancients of old. Hear their whispers upon the four winds Come what may; See it all unfold.
Gaze deep into the brass bowl, Etched with symbols of time forgotten. Stir and swirl, Time's hourglass unfurl.
Memories present and past, the pages turn so fast. The kaleidoscope wheel spins and steals. Time fragments held in water gaze deep and ponder. Hidden messages held within, Life's tapestry is filled to the brim.

Here's another...
Auld Ways
White light flows around your very being. Energy surges crackles in mid-air. Stop the calling dance center and stand here. Head tilting back palms turned upward bask in the moons glow. Feel the pull. Quench the thirst. Gather it all down deep within the soul. Auld ways beckon. Call forth... the air. Balance sent on arrows of light. From within... bring fire. Hear the ancient ones shout. Feel it tremble & shake; scatter, the earth. The storm has begun. Brought forth, falling gently, the rains water. My brothers and sisters, As above, so below With thy will, it is done. So mote it be.

this one is sad but i like it... i was not in a good part of my life and this was all i could think of to do was to get it all down... so here it is
{The battle with in} My heart has become a battle ground, I don’t know where to turn. There are battles happening all around, The land is set to scorch and burn.
The enemies that I face, Are mine and mine alone. They can disappear with out a trace, But still cut you to the bone.
The blood that flows in rivulets, Mixes and fuses with my tears. To this battle I must commit, Or suffer my remaining years.
I am the general of my men, Treating them as chattel. To fight mine enemy yet again, Forced to go into battle.
This battle I must win, Or love that’s found shall be lost. It’s the battle from within, That must be won at any cost.
My enemy is myself again, As fought the times before. Neither one can ever be slain, But I will even out this score.
it is not much of a pome but ya
