I honestly do not believe in either. I do not believe in Hell because I believe God is too loving to allow a place like that to exist.
I do not believe in Satan because he comes across to me as a scapegoat. I believe Satan was invented by people who did not want to take responsibility for their own mistakes/sins. In essence, when they sinned (like stealing, murder, or whatnot), and all evidence pointed to them, they blamed Satan.
Second, if Satan was so evil, why does he only go after evil souls? Wouldn't that make him good?
To me, neither Satan nor Hell exist.
But what are your thoughts?

I believe that there is a negative deity, maybe even more than one. I also believe that there is more than one hell. But, and this is a big but, I think one has to do a lot of harm in more than one life, to end up in one of the hells, and I think that hell isn't a permanent place. It is someplace that people go to learn that evil isn't as rewarding as they once thought. Just my opinion.

I don't believe in evil diety. I think evil is a human condition, not a metaphysical one. There are gods that don't particularly take the feelings of humans into account, but then, why should they?
I don't believe in the Judeo-Christian idea of the afterlife - at best, I figure it might exist for followers of those faiths, but there are other options. So the hell thing doesn't apply. (One of the best bumper stickers I've ever seen: "It's your hell, you burn in it.") The idea that this life is just a test and that we spend an eternity somewhere based on the decisions we make in this short span always seemed wrong to me.

To me ghosts are indicative of an afterlife
There is a paradox that I experience with the idea of an afterlife.
Permit me to share it here.
I have an academic scientific background. I have considerable anecdotal evidence of an afterlife via ghosts but no scientific proof. My core belief system is magical as opposed to psychological or scientific.
I am happy with the paradox but like a true chaosist I can enter into either belief system without having any qualms. This works for me and I am true to both perspectives. Yes to me science is a belief system.
There is no proof of an afterlife by scientific criteria but ghosts don't know that! (lol)

(lol) I too have an academic scientific background and I share your view on this. I believe in science but there is so much that science can't explain. Yet. And just because science has no explanation for metaphysical things doesn't mean that they don't exist. So yes, we can keep the cake and eat it too.

I believe in other worlds to incarnate on, rather than what the Christians call heaven. I believe that there actually are other worlds where our souls can be sent to incarnate that are far more evil than Earth, and those are the hells that I am talking about. I don't think anyone (who is human any way) has to stay in "hell" for eternity. But I do think if you enjoy harming others, and continue to stay that way for many lifetimes, that the chances of an incarnation in one of the worlds that I label a hell, for lack of better words, is pretty good. And they would stay there until they got to the point where they no longer had anything to learn from hurting others.

I believe that Satan is just another face of God* (*feel free to use another Deity) and is a necessary part of that belief system, would God exist if Satan didn't?? And vice versa.
Hell is what we make it here and now in this life, it is a Human concept as is Heaven ~ after all, when we die we will become energy, and energy has no concept of Heaven or Hell.
The idea of Heaven or Hell was a simplification that the masses would understand, and thereby be controlled by The Church. It suited society at the time, whereas now, in a more secular society, I think it's hard to accept without question, which is a shame in some ways. I used to think that it would be so much easier to have lived in Medieval times when Belief was as natural as breathing.....
....but I digress....
