I'm doubtful about the whole concept... Has anyone actually managed to make gold out of something else with those methods? Not that I know an awful lot about it, but anyway... It's fascinating. Can anyone here give some info on this?

Many alchemists claim to have suceeded, but their experiments were not repeatable.
As I understand it, alchemy is a path to enlightenment, though not one that I, myself, follow. The "base metal into gold" is a metaphor for refining the human spirit.

Alchemy is a huge spiritual movement. That started out trying to transform base metals into gold or other precious minerals. It then also grew into extending human life into a state of immortality. And then grew into a spiritual practice where the gold was the evolution of the human spirit. One of the biggest pushes it received was when the psychologist CG Jung investigated it. The interesting thing was that alchemy did use books of symbols that described the processes. Many of these were review by I think Jung who described them as western mandalas. I have used the mandalas but would not call myself an expert. Alchemy has given birth to chemistry in the same way that magic and the occult gave birth to psychology. The Alchemical containers and devices to maintain constant temperatures are still used as the Bain Marie, water baths and fractionating distillation in catering and chemistry respectively. There is a case that Alchemists first distilled alcohol.
At one time to be a magician was to be an alchemist and an astrologer as wellas a summoner of spirits and preparer of talismans.
Given this triple-pronged perspective alchemical a single Alchemical text can be viewed as a technique for making all three ends. Hence the same text can be used to make gold, extend life and achieve spiritual enlightment. I don’t know anyone that has made gold. I do know someone that produced a metal that looked like bronze as gold sometimes does and sadly was bronze.
Alchemy is a western word of Arabic origin. There is little doubt that the earliest texts were Arabic. At that time India and China were not as accessible but developed their own practices but did not use the word “Alchemy”. Hence today there is talk of Chinese alchemy and Chinese sexual alchemy. All alchemy has some symbolism that some have claimed to be sexual and has served as a springboard into a further sexual practice(s). Of course Crowley went of on his won sexual way and squatted certain alchemical words.
To me alchemy is a parascience in that it exists outside of mainstream science but can generate insights that may be taken up by mainstrean science hence the boundaries of science are extended.

yea, i've turned lead into gold before. and wrote about it at priory. i think it's funny you'd pose the question here, instead of priory.
doesn't that sort of prove that honestly you don't even give a shit?
cause i'll tell you one thing i'm not going to explain how to turn lead into gold here with fuckface pablo around lol
here's an idea, why don't you quit being fake, then maybe you'll actually aquire some power of your own someday.

There is a case that Alchemists first distilled alcohol. I agree with that. That's probably as far as it can go. Gold is gold. How would sexual alchemy work? And with what purpose? I agree with that too. Any work like that may contribute to science in one way or another on occasion.

Sexual alchemy for the Chinese was about many aspects of sexual magic. I suppose the key was really about extending life by meditative coitus. Hence coitus is never just about having a good time. but about stimulating the movement of Chi to give Kundalini effects etc. This stuff does work. Chinese alchemy is intimately tied up with chinese traditional medicine which is a massive topic Sexual alchemy has the same principle of metaphorically turning base substance into gold thus the mundane is turned into the spiritual or transcendent.
A physicist friend of mine has shown me a simple pathway for transforming lead into Gold hence it is possible. Unfortunately it requires particle accelerators:-(
Best wishes

I doubt if anyone transformed base metals into gold. Can you imagine the financial mayhem if people started making their own gold?
Interestingly, Galileo was an alchemist as was Edward Talbot who was John Dee’s best assistant for his Enochian workings.

Yeah but if I take my nail varnish to the particle accelerator in Cern, I can have it golden like yours Thorn! Imagine the endless possibilities for cosmetic companies!
At Yves Saint Laurent makeup studio in Cern laboratories: -You're not happy with your "Frosty Peony lip balm"? No problem Madam, let me turn it into a warmer shade; "Golden Primrose"
Clonk Click Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Ping
- Here you go Madam, a new lovely accelerated shade of warm pink...

yea, i've turned lead into gold before. and wrote about it at priory. i think it's funny you'd pose the question here, instead of priory. I am fully aware of that. And I have read your posts about it on your site already. The intention with making this topic here was not that I want an answer to a question. I thought that perhaps some of the other members might find it interesting to discuss this subject. Silly me! How unselfish, I must never do that again. Look here, What would be the point for me to post this topic in Priory? You've got it there already. What an insult! I am made entirely out of spare parts. Parts so spare that no one else wanted them, and you discriminate against us faked humans? How dare you! When doctor Mengele put my new brain in, he said; "This once belonged to Jack the ripper. Take good care of it." I'm glad I didn't get Edward Scissorhands' hands or it would be a real bad combination of spare parts. I have no power? Who are you trying to fool? I run on ordinary 1.5 Volt batteries. Alkaline! Or Alchemyline or whatever they are called. Isn't that a porn thing? *picture googles* ...Oh dear... I guess I'd better stick to nail polish in the future.
