some people are so desperate not to die that they start worshiping death...the grim reaper, Hel, Hecate, Hates, demons, etc. i have friends that worship as such. i believe they are right to do so in the way they are because it's more of a respect for death and the dead.

Hekate and Hades are not "death." Hades rules the underworld, but is not death itself. www.theoi.com/Khthonios/Haides.htmlHekate lives in Hades' realm, but what her associations with death (i.e. necromancy through her job as the Goddess of magic) are only a small part of her domain. www.theoi.com/Khthonios/Hekate.html(The website I've linked to, theoi.com, is an excellent source of information on Greek deities, btw.) Hel is similar to Hades, but in the Norse pantheon. Except, while Hades was respected - if not spoken of much - Hel seems to have been feared and despised. This is because she ruled over those who did not die in battle - no self-respecting Viking ever wanted to show up in her realm. Demons aren't "death" either, for that matter. They're usually thought of as evil, while death is the ultimate in neutrality.
