Did you believe in magick when you were a small child? I did, and I was brought up in a Mormon/LDS household, where on one hand I was taught that all magick was evil. I remember a funny thing that I used to do when I was little. I used to practise trying to walk on water in the mud puddles that I would find. After all, I was taught in Sunday school that Jesus said anything that he could do, we all could do also. So I used to try and walk on water at the age of 3 or 4, LOL! ;D Unfortunately, it never worked, ha ha!

Oh, I was the typical child. I not only believed in magic, but I also believed in Unicorns, fairies, elves...
And I still do. I contend to this day that when I was younger, but at the age when kids stopped believing in fantasy and came to accept reality, I saw a Unicorn. I know, I know... it's a cliche claim, but I truly believe I saw one.
It didn't fit the cliche of light, power, etc, but it was a perfect white horse with a beautiful, long horn on it's head, and there was a sense that killing this creature would be the ultimate of evils.
My belief in elves extends to how JRR Tolkien rotrayed them, as the perfect beings, with no physical blemishes to speak of (and that includes their ears, which believe me to think no humans ears are fully grown unless they are pointed, as silly as that sounds).
As far as fairies, leprachauns, and the like, my belief in them simply stems from the fact that sometimes, little things happen that can be as much the work of gravity as it can be the work of mischevious little creatures.
I have always believed in an alternate world... sometimes I wonder if this is Heaven. Maybe our description of the Garden of Eden is this alternate world, a place where humans, fairies, unicorns, leprachauns, nymphs, fauns, etc exist in harmony.
Yes, again, I know, these are all cliche claims to make, and may even come off a tad childish. But these truly are some of my beliefs.
I have believed from when I was young. You see, I, like other children, began to believe these things were fantasy, and not real, but then I saw the unicorn. And I know I saw one. At least, I'm pretty sure I did.

I believe you! I believe in alternate realities too. I call them dimensions and they overlap each other. I believe that all sorts of otherwordly creatures exist in these other dimensions, and that when you can see into the other dimensions, such as a seer can, then you will see them.

It's an incredible thing to see one of those creatures. I haven't seen any since, but I've come to believe I was supposed to see that unicorn. Why? Because, the encounter wasn't a fleeting second. It lasted just over a minute. It lasted long enough for me to ingrain the image of the unicorn in my head forever. I truly believe, for some reason as yet unknown to me, that God did not want me to forget that (or those) other world(s).

I absolutely believed in magick as a child! I think most people do, some of us just never grow out of it. Never saw a unicorn though - well, except for Lancelot, that goat with his horns merged together...
This isn't really magick, but as a child I desperately wanted to move things with my mind. It was the age of Uri Geller I think and I thought telekinesis was the coolest thing ever. I'd sit in my top bunk for what seemed like hours (hours in "kid time" anyway - probably more like 5 or 10 minutes) trying to get things to float across my room to me...

I have actually moved a balloon with my mind before, Thorn! Have you ever tried a balloon? They are probably the easiest thing to try first, LOL! You shouldn't give up ever, and should keep trying to move things with your mind. Some people can even bend spoons with their minds! I have even seen it on TV. I guess what I am saying is, let's never grow up, and always believe in magick, mwahahahahaaa! ;D

I use to believe that if you wanted to cast a spell or want something to do something that you could will it by the power of your mind. You just had to focus and things will happen,i still do believe that too. Just haven't given it a try recently.

That is basically how magick works in my opinion, Littlewing. I have found that quite often one must hold the thought of what one wants in their minds for quite sometime before it manifests. But manifest it will! Sometimes what we want comes in a form that we don't recognize however. In my opinion, one can never predict how the magick will work.

Yeah I know Debbie, but this is when I was small and had no idea about anything to do or related to magic, I just sorta knew it, which later on kinda made me feel a little uneasy.

Yes, Power can be a scary thing, can't it. LOL! I have been there before, and it wasn't actually too long ago at all! I just keep learning and opening my mind more and more as I go along.

I'll bet you did, Ophie. Did you believe in Santa Claus? If so, then you believed in magick.

...I remember going on a family holiday to Wales when I was quite young, 10 or 12, and we stayed in a Farmhouse, there was another family staying there as well, and they had a daughter who was a bit younger than me. I found a shiny black stone and we decided it was magical, and if we rubbed it we would see Faeries etc. We arranged to get up a Midnight one night to go to FaeryLand...well I got up but she didn't, and to this day I swear that I rubbed it and believed in it so much that I saw Faeries!!
I kept the stone for a long time, but I don't know where it is now. I remember it was a funny shape, smooth and shiny on one end, and I think it might have been laval (if that's a word??).....

That is a very cool memory Fairlady. I believed in faeries very strongly when I was younger too. I love faeries now, and actually decorate my house and garden with images of them.

I totally believed in majick when I was younger. I went to Parochial school and thought damn wouldn't it be cool to turn water into wine, make fish jump into the net, make bread appear, etc. Jesus was so awesome. The nuns used to scare the bajeebies out of me with hell and the devil as I was always asking questions. I think they did that because they didn't have any answer to what I asked. I was very inquisitive as a child especially when it came to religion and the nuns hated me. Used to tell me constantly I was going to hell because I just wouldn't accept "it". I just wanted to know what "it" was. I asked a lot of whys?? LOL
Another memory from childhood was that I believed I could fly - not physically in wake mode but every night when I went to sleep. I used to get myself ready to fly -- wish I could do that now. I used to be able to do it so easily as a child and it seemed right. I used to have the best dreams of places I'd never been. Music was a transporter for me I could easily do it when I had my headphones on and listening to music. I went into a zone. I still find it very easy to zone out. I do it sometimes without even realizing I'm doing it.
I used to talk to the plants when I was small as well. We used to have this beautiful purple Heather plant, My mom bought it for me when I was about 5 cuz I was always outside in the gardens playing with the flowers and such. So Heather stayed indoors in the kitchen and I used to sit in the kitchen and listen to her and tell my mom the stories that Heather told me. I was so upset when she took it upon herself to bring Heather outside. I came in one day and Heather was planted outside... I cried because I told my mom she planted her wrong and she was going to die. My mom said I didn't know what I was talking about. I ranted forever to my mom to dig her up, she wouldn't. I tried but I got yelled at and punished. 3 days later Heather died where my mom planted her... I was inconsolable. After that my mom let me plant wherever I wanted. Do you know I have never owned another Heather plant after that. I love to look at them when I go to the garden shops and I listen to them but I refuse to buy one. My youngest wanted one when she was little but I just could not bring myself to bring one home. I don;t know why... hmmm
