You know the cooking show that I learned about the corn on, didn't mention why the corn helped you to produce more seratonin. So I really don't know what there is in it that works to cheer you up.

Hi ~ can you suggest any remedies for Migraine?? I'm tired of taking drugs that leave me all "wishy-washy" afterwards. I once read that feverfew eaten with some bread was a cure, but I have tried that with no apparent effect. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi ~ can you suggest any remedies for Migraine?? I'm tired of taking drugs that leave me all "wishy-washy" afterwards. I once read that feverfew eaten with some bread was a cure, but I have tried that with no apparent effect. Thanks in anticipation. I've never tried feverfew because it would interfere with my depression meds. I use rosemary oil on my temples or a really strong rosemary tea. It works about 50% of the time if I get some tea in me early enough. (Closer to 90% effective for me on non-migraine headaches.) For me it's really a matter of catching it early - around the time the weird effects with my vision start, but before there's a lot of actual pain. Once it actually sets in, there's very little I've found that will make it go away other than sleeping in a dark, quiet room. At this point, if I have some rosemary oil in an infuser, or just hold an open bottle where I can smell it, it takes a little of the bite out. (Excedrin migraine can also take a bit of the edge off, enough to let me sleep anyway.) Jamaican dogwood is very strong pain killer, but I've never tried it for migraines so I don't have any specific information. California poppy might also work, as it has very limited mild opium like qualities, and I've used opiates (well, vicodin anyway) for migraines in the past when I've had them.

Thanks Thorn.....I too have to catch it early, and like you sometimes only a lie down in a dark room will do the trick. But sometimes I can't do that, I have to go to work, yada yada yada, and I just wanted to try something that didn't involve prescription/OTC drugs....I'm working out my herb garden, and hopefully can include some home-grown remedies

Well ordinary headache pills don't work anyway. I have headaches a lot and I've had migraine since yesterday morning. It is TORTURE to have to go to work with that. Nothing gets rid of it either unless I overdose heavily on strong painkillers. I'll try some of that Oxworm and Jamaican Hippy.

I'm so sorry to hear that you have been suffering with a headache for so long now, Creator. That must be just horrible. I'll be sending good, healing vibes your way.
